MEET OUR FOUNDER

Dr. Carla Smiley, Au.D, CCC-A
National Board-Certified Audiologist

Dr. Carla Smiley, affectionately known as Brandi by family and friends, was diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss by an educational audiologist at the age of six.  That audiology visit would forever change her life.  She knew at such a young age that she wanted to be an audiologist when she grew up and an audiologist she became.

Dr. Smiley is a graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins, GA and acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University in 2001. She later pursued her doctoral studies in clinical audiology from Nova Southeastern University, graduating with high distinction in 2006.  In 2022, Dr. Smiley received her certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from the Bank of America and Cornell University Women's Entrepreneurship Program.

Dr. Smiley’s years as an audiologist has afforded her many opportunities within various sectors of audiology including education, public health, Veterans Health Administration, and the Department of Defense.

Dr. Smiley has traveled to various countries including Serbia, Honduras, Romania, and India participating in international missions. There was something about the hugs, smiles and gratitude that imprinted humanitarian efforts on her heart.  These experiences contributed to her dreams of mobilizing audiology services to the hard-to-reach and underserved all over the world.

Dr. Smiley is board-certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, which she is also an active member.  She is licensed with the Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology and holds a Doctoral Level Service Educator’s Certificate with the GA Professional Standards Committee.  Dr. Smiley is also an active member of the eCornell Women's Entrepreneur Alumni, Georgia Head Start Association, Georgia Department of Education Educational Audiology Advisory Committee and Spalding County Chamber of Commerce.

TESTIMONIALS

“I am so thankful to Dr. Smiley for taking the time to bring hearing services to our residence. My mother is 91 years old and in hospice and it was very hard for us to find a provider within close proximity. We reached out to Onsite Audiology and was scheduled within a reasonable about of time. Dr. Smiley was so compassionate and caring with my mother. Highly recommended.”

"Dr. Smiley was so compassionate with my mother who was hesitant to proceed with hearing aids. She listened to my mother's needs, was knowledgeable about different types of technology, and made her feel comfortable in making a life-changing decision".

"Yesterday we went to the doctor! Didn't get any news that was pleasing to my ears, God is still good anyhow. I just want to shoutout and acknowledge this beautiful black woman, Dr. Carla Smiley less than 4% of audiologists are black! This made me smile in a big way! She then asked what was going on, I told her everything, and to hear Dr. Smiley say how important it is to advocate for YOURSELF. She was in DC walking around with stage 4 cancer and had to keep fighting, said she would have been dead in graduate school, hadn't she advocated for herself. It blessed me to hear this. I'm glad I have not stopped and have been actively seeking help! I have not felt good in months, but I continue to FIGHT! And Dr. Smiley is located in Fayetteville, she has a tiny house she operates out of, so dope!"

"My mother's hearing aid stopped working while she was visiting GA. We contacted Onsite Audiology and Dr. Smiley did not hesitate to fit her into her busy schedule. Because of Dr. Smiley's compassion, concern and willingness to help, my mother's hearing aids were operating in no time.  We are grateful".
